Happy new week guys, and I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  Tope of “Frock It Rock It” sent me this “Iro and Buba” some months ago but I couldn’t wear it because it’s been rather frigid over here. Fortunately, the weather was really great some weeks ago, and so I wore this outfit to church.  Just like I described in one of my previous posts, “Iro and Buba” is the female traditional outfit worn by the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria.  Iro is the skirt/ bottom and buba is the top.  Being a Yoruba girl, I grew up wearing this traditional outfit during cultural  events, and  to church most Sundays. I love how Tope modernized the Iro and Buba by using a light, silky fabric instead of the usual lace or Ankara. The last time I wore Iro and Buba was herePAO_8720-2989779823-O PAO_8710-2989778776-O PAO_8702-2989777710-O PAO_8695-2989776998-O PAO_8694-2989776906-O PAO_8699-2989777431-O
