
Happy new week guys, and I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Tope of “Frock It Rock It” sent me this “Iro and Buba” some months ago but I couldn’t wear it because it’s been rather frigid over here. Fortunately, the weather was really great some weeks ago, and so I wore this outfit to church. Just like I described in one of my previous posts, “Iro and Buba” is the female traditional outfit worn by the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria. Iro is the skirt/ bottom and buba is the top. Being a Yoruba girl, I grew up wearing this traditional outfit during cultural events, and to church most Sundays. I love how Tope modernized the Iro and Buba by using a light, silky fabric instead of the usual lace or Ankara. The last time I wore Iro and Buba was here,
