Wow! I can’t believe it’s 2016 already. Happy new year guys. I’m so glad we all made it. 2015 was a year filled with lots of revelations and surprises for me. God really showed Himself strong in my life and my family’s. It was not until then that I realized how much God loved and cared for me. It was only His mercy and grace that kept me up until the ending of last year. There were so many things that happened but He always showed Himself to be a wonderful God.
One of the things that I’m very proud of is that I can post videos again. It’s been a long time coming but I was finally able to start back in November. Last year I wrote about wanting to be better with emails and prioritizing and to God be the glory I’m so much better. One of my greatest achievements blog-wise, was working with OPI towards the end of the year. It was such a humbling experience for me- to have been contacted by the #1 nail brand in the world for a collaboration is just ‘WOW!’. I’m not saying this to boast or sound proud but to thank God and to encourage anyone reading this- Never give up on your dreams. It just shows me that God is just starting in my life- 2015 is nothing compared to what God would do in the year 2016.
I think the most drastic change that I’m going to encounter this year is marriage. Olu and I will be getting married in a few months and it’s still so surreal to me. I have to be honest, I’m a little nervous but more excited about what God has in store for us.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has contributed to the nourishment and development of this blog. I thank you guys for reading and for being so loyal because without God and you, there wouldn’t be a Skinny Hipster. For everyone who participates in the Hipster Mix challenges, you don’t know how much you touch my heart every time I see the emails or tags on Instagram. I also want to specially thank my family for always being so supportive and for all the wonderful advise. Also my wonderful friends Michelle, Funke, John-Paul, Femi, Tolulope, Arinola, Memi- thank you so much for all your help and for really investing your time towards the Skinny Hipster brand.

I’ve followed your posts on FB but never ventured to your blog. Today I read your new year’s mesaage/reflection and am really happy for you. Obviously I don’t know you personally but I connected with your words and humble spirit. What really inspired me to comment was your quote of the year – “Just Because You Took Longer Than Others Doesn’t Mean You Failed.”….I’ve always labeled myself as a late bloomer, and often felt “behind” friends (marriage, children, etc.). Thanks for reminding me that ‘he who begun a good work in ME will perfect it until the day of Christmas Jesus’
