This holiday season, I’m excited to attend all the festivities, its one thing I always look forward to this time of year. One thing is certain, my hair and outfit always have to be on point.  Today’s post is all about my hair routine during Winter seasons. As you know this year, I have used  Clairol’s hair color and have truly grown to love their products, as there is something for every hair need. One product that has really helped take my hair to the next level this past year is Clairol’s Nice ‘n Easy, an Allure Best of Beauty award winning product and my go-to for at-home hair coloring. I am definitely so proud of this product becoming an 2018 Allure Best of Beauty winner Breakthrough Award winner, as it delivers on all your at home color needs and really does give you that salon worthy hair at home.  Its allergy gentle formula is gentle on the scalp and provides you with soft shiny hair – a total win. You can check out my posts about dyeing my hair at home here, and learn more about Clairol’s Root Touch Up (my other fave) products here.  Once my color is in check for the holidays – I love to stick to styling my natural hair with quick and simple styles. My go-to hairstyles are rocking my afro or putting it in a puff.I have to really applaud myself because over the years I have gotten better with my hair maintenance. I usually wear protective styles, but I’ve decided to let my hair come out and play. Just as the skin gets really dry during the cold season, natural hair is just like that and needs extra love during this time of the year. It is very vital that hair stays moisturized to avoid breakage and split ends. Clairol’s Nice ‘n Easy has conditioners in every step and comes with a crème conditioner that helps my curls maintain their shape and gives my hair a shiny, soft texture. I maintain this with a simple hair routine (keep reading for my tips!).My hair routine is very simple and doesn’t require much time (two things I need as a busy mom!). After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I apply leave-in conditioner and do bantu knots or single braids on my head. After my hair dries, which is usually by the following day, I rub olive oil on my hands before taking out the twists or braids. To avoid breakage, I usually comb my hair after each take out. This usually takes me about 10 minutes and after this I pack my hair up with a stretchy band. Don’t forget to rub light oil and leave-in conditioner every couple of days.Coloring my hair with Clairol Nice ‘n Easy has been amazing because not only does the color look perfect against my skin tone (I use 4w – dark mocha brown), it also lasts for over three months. I don’t experience any hair damage, which is a huge deal for me, and was one of my biggest fears when coloring my hair! I have also been using Clairol’s Root Touch Up for in-between colorings and this doesn’t take more than ten minutes of my time. Again, nothing beats saving time + money while also feeling more confident rocking my natural hair!

I hope these tips were helpful. What does your hair routine consist of and what are your go-to styles this holiday season? I would love to know!
