As you already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I also like to do a photoshoot  wearing a pink and a blog post to bring awareness to this. I apologize for the late post but you know what they say “better late than never.” Studies show that a woman in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer every 2-minutes and 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. When it is put that way, it sounds a little scary. This is why early detection is the best and there are over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

How To Reduce Risk of Having Breast Cancer

  • Do regular self exams
  • Know your family history
  • Have an early detection plan
  • Talk to your doctor about it
Have If you don’t have insurance, do your googles and look for clinics that offers free or low cost mammograms and breast exams. One of the first places I would look is everyone’s fav- Planned Parenthood. To learn more about how to reduce risk of having breast cancer, read what I wrote last year- here.
