Happy Monday beautiful people!! Our baby girl turned one on Saturday- how time flies!!! Olu and I didn’t want to throw a party because she is still very young and we didn’t want to do anything that would overwhelm her. We have gone to many first birthday parties and the children always seem so miserable and cranky and we didn’t want Ire to experience such. With the help of daddy and her godmother (Funke), we put together an impromptu photoshoot on our deck. The first outfit Ire is wearing a full set of Yoruba Traditional outfit- Aso Oke made by Funke. Aso-Oke is one of our traditional clothings that is worn on special occasions such as birthday celebrations and the most popular one, weddings. To make Ire’s outfit, Funke used one of my mom’s collections of Aso Oke- so cute!
My favorite part of the shoot was the cake smash. Once Ire realized how sweet the icing was, it was over. She kept digging her fingers inside the cake and wouldn’t stop licking her little fingers. She chewed on the ice cream cone for about 30 minutes and ate it all, by herself!! My baby is such a foodie!! Later in the evening, Olu and I took her to an indoor children’s playground. I will blog about our experience later this week. Special shoutout to all the love we received for her birthday. Thank you so much guys, we really appreciate it.
