Have you started your annual planning or do you like to wait until last minute? Strategic planning is so vital and I encourage you to not wait until December 31st to begin. It’s good to start now so that when that first quarter rolls around you’re ready. Planning ahead of time has been a game changer for the past few months and it has increased my productivity. Remember “if you stay ready you don’t have to get ready.” One thing that has really helped me as an entrepreneur is having and utilizing a content calendar. If you haven’t started, make sure you incorporate this to your business today.

As a blogger, gone are those days you can post without proper planning. In order to make it in this industry, you need to be intentional about everything. Having a content calendar helps with the planning and scheduling of all your social contents in advance. This promotes consistency, productivity and puts less strain on you and your team. Keeping it real, no matter how much you like working under pressure, most quality works are produced when it isn’t rushed. A content calendar literally makes life easier and better for your brand.

My content calendar is broken up into seven categories of what my content should look like. For example, I have Sundays down for all videos, so my November calendar has titles for all the four videos I have to post this month. This includes the time that the video content goes up and where I’m posting it. I also love writing significant dates on my calendar so that I don’t miss out on important dates such as holidays. Utilizing a content calendar makes me accountable, things are less overwhelming and it promotes new contents. Since you can literally see all your contents from the last few months, it helps you make the needed adjustments. There are many wonderful apps to use, do your research and see what works for you. I currently use excel and google docs.
